Title: Sales Engineer

Status: Full Time/Exempt

Department: Sales

Reports to: Sales Manager

Purpose of the Position:

Your mission: Grow market share, open new doors, and position MFP as the first call when customers face technical challenges. You’ll be the face of innovation—turning complex problems into business wins.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own and grow a territory like it’s your business. Develop strategies to capture and dominate accounts.
  • Prospect daily for new accounts and opportunities.
  • Qualify opportunities and aggressively network with decision makers to turn prospects into long-term partners.

Machine Builder

MFP is looking to hire a dedicated individual to join our team as an Order Entry Specialist.

Title: Machine Builder

Status: Full Time exempt/non-exempt

Department: Power Unit

Reports to: Power Unit Team Lead/Production Supervisor

Purpose of the Position: The Machine Builder will assemble and test customer hydraulic power units designed by our engineering team to meet customer expectations. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Builder to join our Power Unit department. The ideal candidate will take pride in ensuring systems are fabricated to high quality standards, and contribute to a collaborative shop environment focused on craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, circuit diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

Mechanical aptitude with strong understanding of basic hydraulic principles (flows, pressures, components).

Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and shop equipment.

Collaborate with customer service reps to resolve order discrepancies or missing information

Ability to manage multiple builds simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical issues.

Ability to follow documented build processes, quality checks, and safety procedures.

Basic electrical understanding (wiring, sensors, motors) or willingness to learn.

Ability to lift, position, and assemble components using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment.

Strong organizational habits and attention to detail in assembly, labeling, and documentation.

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering, fabrication, and production teams.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced setting

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Associate degree or business coursework preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Experience assembling hydraulic power units, manifolds, or fluid power systems.

• Familiarity with hydraulic components such as pumps, motors, valves, filters, and reservoirs.

Tube bending and hose fabrication experience (manual or CNC).

Welding, plasma cutting, machining, and/or light fabrication experience.

Electrical panel assembly or machine wiring experience.

Forklift and overhead crane operation experience.

Understanding of ISO cleanliness standards, filtration practices, and hydraulic testing procedures.

Ability to perform system testing, flushing, and final inspection.

CFPHS or other fluid power certifications (IFPS).

Experience documenting deviations, build notes, or quality issues.

Prior work in a hydraulic distributor, OEM, or custom machine-build environment.

Supervisory Responsibility: No.

Working Conditions: Manufacturing floor; must be able to stand, bend, lift without limitations; noise, dust & shavings during light fabrications. Safety training applicable to job will be provided.

Field Technician

MFP Automation Engineering is a leader in the fluid power industry specializing in hydraulics, pneumatics, automatic lubrication systems, and electrical automation. Our approach to the market is from a technical, problem-solving aspect to best meet our customers’ needs. Educating our customers about the advancements in automation technology has become the underlying theme for MFP Automation Engineering and continues to be a source of growth for our company. MFP is looking to hire a resolute individual to fill our Field Technician position and join the MFP team.

Title: Field Technician

Status: Full Time (non-exempt)

Department: Installations

Reports to: Field Project Manager

Purpose of the Position: The Field Technician supports MFP’s installations on hydraulic & lubrication systems at our customers’ facilities. Work will include infrastructure projects, mobile and industrial lubrication applications, service calls, preventative maintenance, and equipment start-ups. A Field Technician will learn all aspects of MFP’s business and will gain experience with on-the-job training.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in hydraulic plumbing of equipment pre-assembled at MFP
  • Hose assembly and tube bending/fabrication for hydraulic applications
  • Hydraulic power unit start-up and integration
  • Ability to troubleshoot existing system(s) to diagnose issues
  • Layout and installation of lubrication systems to meet customer expectations
  • In-house repairs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Experience with hydraulics systems and components
  • Understanding of machine lubrication systems both mobile and industrial
  • Familiarity with drilling & tapping
  • Exposure to arc welding or ability to learn
  • General understanding of schematics (electrical or hydraulic) and blueprint interpretation
  • Technical training and/or certifications encouraged but not required
  • CDL or ability to obtain a CDL

Critical Competencies:

  • General understanding of mechanical skills with a technical aptitude
  • Strong customer service skills to communicate directly with customers onsite
  • Ability to think quickly and make decisions to complete a job independently
  • Flexibility to work in a variety of environments and working conditions

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Working Conditions: Frequent travel is required, up to 75% of the time including overnight stays. Manufacturing facilities, civil infrastructure projects, primarily outdoor work; must be able to stand, bend, lift without physical limitations. Proper PPE required and safety training onsite or prior to arrival at designated project location.

Systems Engineer

Title: Systems Engineer

Status: Full Time (exempt/non-exempt)

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Department Team Lead

Purpose of the Position: Our Systems Engineers design and implement automation and fluid power solutions to meet our customers’ needs. This team member is responsible for creating and documenting designs to ensure product functionality and quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining Bill of Materials for engineered systems.
  • Detailing hydraulic and/or electrical schematics.
  • Creating Layout 3D models and drawings for engineered systems.
  • Evaluating customer specifications and requirements to ensure systems meet expectations.
  • Follow internal workflow process to ensure product quality.
  • Assist with startup and implementation of engineered systems.
  • Propose and implement internal improvement projects and product development for MFP engineered systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience reading and creating circuit diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Strong organizational skills and time management
  • Effective communicator both verbal and written, especially when presenting technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience working with established workflows and collaborating with coworkers.
  • Willingness to expand area of expertise. Systems engineers are expected to work on hydraulic, pneumatic, electro mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environments and current manufacturing market trends.
  • General knowledge of machine control & PLC interface.

Critical Competencies:

  • Experience working in a supply chain department or project management
  • Detail oriented and strong communication skills
  • Passion to grow area of expertise into new realms.
  • Capable of working with common engineering programs (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
